American songwriter Omar Apollo fringes on the borders of R&B, pop and indie, with the occasional injection of colourful Latino guitar and Spanish lyrics owed to his Mexican heritage. He's come a long way since he started releasing music on Soundcloud four years ago, having just released his third album Apolonio. The sounds on the new record are refreshingly diverse as usual; take indie, guitar-driven track 'Useless' and Latin-infused 'Dos Uno Nueve', sat amongst R&B tracks with big pop production like 'Hey Boy' featuring Kali Uchis. Speaking of which, 'Hey Boy' has landed alongside a music video featuring Kali and Omar. The song itself features tremolo guitar and soft keys that meet a simple beat. Omar's satisfyingly catchy vocals are sat beside Kalis' faster pace, harmonised sections, making for a beautiful collaboration. It's definitely worth checking out out 'Hey Boy', as well as the rest of Apolonio. -Ellie Rose-Davies
